Bacteria Attack on Your Kids

Our children have a strange way of getting their bedrooms dirty. Everyday they seem to have another bowl or wrapper stuffed between their sheets. And even though you go through their rooms on a daily basis it always seems like the dirty plate or nasty wrapper has been their for years. We do what we can to protect them from disease causing bacteria, but as long as kids will be kids and enjoy playing in everything that is dirty, sticky, and stinky, we won’t be able to put our feet up and not worry about what dirty things their fingers are in.

But there are ways to prevent our children from catching some diseases or catching a parasitic disease. A good way to do this is to have your children carry around an anti bacteria like hand sanitizer. Making sure your child knows proper sanitation techniques can be vital to their health. Without saying this can be difficult because children love getting dirty but for some reason can sometimes catch an allergic reaction to water and soap or at least it may seem that way at times, but no matter what you must stay with them and make sure they wash their little hands before every meal. What my child liked to do is make it into a little song. Whatever it takes it is important to make sure they do it. Making sure their beds is clean is important also because they will spend at least eight hours their and that where a lot of diseases can fester. A good way to prevent bacteria from forming is to stop it before it starts. This can mean using duvet covers that protect from bacteria. It can be easy to use bacteria fighting duvet covers just put them over your kids comforter and that’s it. By doing this and showing your child good sanitation techniques you can do a lot to protect their health, even when you are not their.

Bedding for Kids

When searching for kids bedding it is hard to find anything of great quality. When I go searching for different types of bedding with my kids I have a tough time finding things to go with the rest of our contemporary style home. And the things that I am able to find our all of such low quality. It seems like every bedding company out there just got together and thought well since kids our more interested in things like cartoon characters let’s  just make a really crappy bed set and put some cartoon character  on the  surface of it and sell it at ridiculously high prices. Well I for one prefer quality over everything else. If I go out to purchase something I demand to get my money worth every time or I simply will not purchase the product.

Well after going through every bedding store in my local area I came up without any luck. At first I was pushed to just giving up completely since I was unable to find what I was looking for but, before I gave up completely I decided to switch my search from my local area to the world wide web. After awhile of searching I came across just what I had been looking for. I had wound up on Multi Shop Stop. There they had many different types of bedding to choose from, ranging from duvet covers, to comforters, bedspreads, sheets, and everything else you could possibly want in a bed set. My daughter quickly picked out two polka dot duvet covers that she just seemed to fall in love with. Not only that I was able to find a complete toddler bed set for my three year old which included the sheets, pillow cases, comforter, and the duvet cover set and it all came in the same matching olive kids out of this world set and all for under 100 dollars. So if you are looking for a great bed set for your kids I highly recommend checking out Multi Shop Stop.

Knowing the Difference Between Our Kids Colds and Allergies

The number one reason children stay home from school is because of a cold. Colds can occur more then eight times in a year. Some common signs are coughing, fever, aches, pains, sneezing, watery eyes and a runny nose. But what if these signs are not from a cold at all, but from an allergic reaction? A cold is the body responding to the virus. An allergies is a histamine response to things your kids may be allergic too. Unfortunately kids can catch allergies as much as grownups can. Children under two years of age are less likely to get them since allergies usually show up within the second year. Knowing the difference between both of them can be somewhat frustrating since both have common symptoms and require different care and medications. Fortunately knowing the differences can help. Here are just a few of the different symptoms:

Cold

Fever & aches
Thick and yellowish discharge coming from the nose
Contagious
Symptoms develop slowly, not all at once
Normally last between 3-14 days

Allergies

Itchy nose, eyes and throat. No fever or aches unless it has developed into a sinus infection
Watery discharge coming from the nose
Non contagious
Symptoms occur all at once
Can last up to a month as long as they are exposed to the allergen

It breaks my heart to see children go through these difficult times. It is hard for an adult to deal with these symptoms imagine how our children must feel. It is very uncomfortable especially for them. Lets try to prevent this from happening in the first place. Teach your children to frequently wash there little hands. Kids touch just about everything and have the bad habit of putting their fingers in their mouth afterwards. Always try to carry hand sanitizer in your bag and in their backpacks. Make sure your child drinks plenty of water. Fluids flush out harmful impurities and toxins in our bodies, and aid in the production of mucus. Not drinking enough water can lead to dehydration and can result in a high fever. Also, try to keep your children away from any friends or family members that may be sick.

Dust mites can cause allergies and these bugs love to crawl around our beds, especially bed sheets that have not been washed often. Use duvet covers instead of comforters, especially for your kids. Change their bedding often helps as well. Duvet covers can be washed frequently, which is what what they need. Wash their bedding weekly, at least twice a week. Make sure the water in the washer machine is hot enough to wash away bacteria and dust mites. Duvet covers come in many different styles. I am pretty sure your kids will find the one they like. Try keeping your pets out of the bedrooms. Pets dander can cause bad allergies. Understanding the symptoms and prevention can keep our children healthy and most importantly, happy.

How To Protect Your Kids From Bacteria

We try to protect our kids from harm and bad influences but one thing that we just can not stop is the spread of bacteria that they can come in contact with on a daily basis. Although we may scrub our homes until our hands bleed we can not stop the spread of bacteria in there schools. Kids seem to constantly be spreading bacteria from one another. From coughing and not covering their mouths, to sneezing on each other, to whipping their nose with their hands and touching things our children are faced with an army of different bacteria. Which is why when they arrive home it is our jobs to disinfect them and protect them as much as possible for the next days onslaught of bacteria.

It is important for our kids to remember to wash their hands with soap and water and the often use of hand sanitizer helps also. A good way to instill good hand washing skills is by repetition. Washing before meals and coming in from outside. Keeping hand sanitizer in places where they are most needed is a good way to remind them to use it often. Some good places are next to doors, in the kitchen, next to the television remote, and also placing one in their school bags helps them remember when you are not there to remind them.

One often over looked place where bacteria can spread is the bedroom. Children often like to come home and flop down on their beds without washing. It is hard to wash a bed with only a comforter on it because comforters are so hard to wash that most of them require dry cleaning. Washing one in your washer machine can seem pointless because they are so big that they barely move back and forth in the washer machine. That is why I recommend duvet covers in your child’s bedroom. Duvet cover sets are easy to put on and even easier to remove. Duvet covers are great because unlike the bulky comforter they are easy to wash. Not only that but there are some duvet covers that can even protect against bacteria like bamboo duvet covers that protect from up to 99.8 % of bacteria.

Redecorate Your Kids Bedroom This Spring With Polka Dot Bedding

Redecorate your kids bedroom for this spring can be a blast for both parents and children.  It is the best time to change the look and feel of your kids bedroom with the more fresh and stylish spring designs.  It also gives parents a chance to de-clutter their kids bedroom. Began redecorating choosing a cool and fun bedding set. Bright, open spaces for this spring is what we are looking for.  Polka dot duvet covers opens up small spaces and brightens up the bedroom in an instant.  Duvet cover sets will also protect their old bedding and keep the bed smelling clean and fresh.  Coordinate the duvet set with either a coordinating polka dot rug or a solid color shaggy rug.  The shaggy rug compliments the modern look of a polka dot duvet cover.

Painting the room is also a great way to freshen up the bedroom for a very low cost.  When deciding on what color to use, pay close attention to the colors on the polka dots.  Bold and bright colors would be best.  Next, we can move on with the de-cluttering of the room.  Put toys away in storage containers.  Storage containers for kids do not have to be so boring and obvious.  It can be used to your advantage.  Work  the storage containers around the decor of the room.  Choose colors that coordinate best with the bedding.  Put the containers in the closet or under the bed if the room is too small.  Closets should be cleaned and well organized as well.  Add a second closet bar at a lower lever.  This second bar can be used to hang additional clothing and can help make it easier for the kids to help put away their clothes.  Purchase lots of small, sturdy hangers designed to hold children clothes.  Pick up any dirty laundry that may be lying around the room.  A great way to encourage kids to put their dirty laundry away is placing a basketball hoop over the laundry basket.  This way your kids will see putting away the laundry as a fun thing to do.
